This is me excited. I swear.
Until a couple of months ago I had never had real ramen.
I thought ramen was the stuff you get for $0.25 at the grocery when you are super poor and lazy. Wrong.
Then I went to IPPUDO and HIDECHAN . Holy shit. Ramen is the best food in the whole world.
My dude and I went to Hide-Chan as many times as we could while we were living in NY.
Right before we moved back to Austin we couldn't stop whining about how sad we will be without any place to get kick-ass ramen.
Then right when we got back we started hearing talk of a ramen place opening. He just about had a heart attack but we were both skeptical.
When it opened we went as soon as we could, this, unfortunately, ended up being on a Saturday night during there first week, we got there around 8 or 9, waited in a long line that seemed to go pretty quickly for about 20 minutes until they told us they had just run out of broth, so that was a bust.
This of course, did not deter us, we were stoked they were doing so well and everyone that was eating already looked like they were in fatty liquid heaven..and the smells..
so we went back.
This time on a Wednesday around 7 (last night). We waited in line for about 40 minutes, then devoured a bunch of food.
I was planing on documenting the actual food but it looked so good when it arrived I only got a bad picture of the Gyoza pot stickers and another bad picture of my ramen the Tankotsu Sho-yu, after half was already gone.
mmmmmmm
so good
Everyone that worked there was really nice, it was cheap, and it was a pretty freaking fashionable crowd of people eating there. Hotties for days.
My dude, the ramen snob, asked me the second we stepped out of Ramen Ta Tsu_Ya if we could come back soon. Literally we had one foot out the door. I of course said I would hella love to. soon.
Eat ramen. Eat Ramen Ta Tsu _ Ya !!
Oh yeah they also have coffee in a can!
It tastes like kinda sweet smoked nuts, hella drinkable.
